A Spooky Night in the Neighborhood

A combination of a very long exposure and burning leaves created an interesting night of fog and smoke. I stepped outside my house camera on tripod and started shooting my neighborhood. My exposure was set for 30 seconds with an f-stop of F 11.

Selective Looking

Many times photography is more selective looking than anything else. In this image of dancers I cropped in the camera and also cropped with Photoshop to show what I wanted to show my viewers. Stage lighting and movement of the dancers with a slow shutter speed help to show the beauty of dance. My shutter speed was half a second with an f-stop of 8 using a 200 mm lens.

Angle of View

When shooting ordinary subjects in photography angle of view can make all the difference in the world. In this image I was able to capture things differently by shooting at a high angle. Eye level is probably the most boring angle to shoot any subject because it's the level we always see the world. Exposure information; F3 .5 shutter speed 1/30 ISO 400
