I am always stressing to my students to simplify their composition. Make your viewers look at what you think is important. Macro photography seems to lend itself to that philosophy well. As I sat in my car waiting on someone, I noticed the rain droplets on my window. Remember, I always have a camera. I pulled out my macro lens and started shooting tiny sections of the car window until I found the right combination of droplets. By using the macro lens with a large f-stop, f-2.8, I was able to put the background totally out of focus which helped the droplets to stand out.
