Sometimes you need to get to a very low angle on a subject. I set the camera on auto focus with a 17mm lens and put the camera almost on the ground without looking through the camera. Yes it is a kind of guess work when it comes to the composition. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Fear not! Just try it!

Doorway of Walker Sisters Cabin in Great Smoky Mountains

Light is what photography is all about. Without it nothing can be recorded. The warm daylight seemed to welcome visitors to the old historical Cabin built when Abraham Lincoln was still practicing law. The cabin is located in the Little Greenbriar area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I used a 17mm lens set at f-5.6 with a shutter 1/60.

Another Night Shot in Downtown Maryville Tennessee

I love wet weather at night. This was shot during a night field trip with my photography class from Pellissippi State. Rain is ok as long as you are prepared for it. I use a big golf umbrella with my camera mounted to a tripod. This way things stay dry and I get interesting images of reflections caused by the rain. This photo was shot across from the Palace Theater. With my camera on a tripod I was able to use a exposure of 1/2 a second at f-11 at ISO 200. The white balance was set for tungsten light. Night in Downtown Maryville with George Strait

I got a shot through Roy's Record Shop window capturing a cardboard cut out of George Strait with a reflection of the Capitol Theater. I used a tripod with a 8 second exposure on f-11. I used a flashlight during the exposure to paint light on George.

A Spooky Night in the Neighborhood

A combination of a very long exposure and burning leaves created an interesting night of fog and smoke. I stepped outside my house camera on tripod and started shooting my neighborhood. My exposure was set for 30 seconds with an f-stop of F 11.
